While I hope one of our resident attornies will chime in, and while your message does not come across totally clear (to me at least), I do have a problem with your conclusion that "they only clam up when it's bad news."

In a situation where you are actively engaged in litigation, or negotiations, the common sense thing to do is to say NOTHING to anyone that you don't HAVE TO say.

PTSC is directly involved in this litigation, and their silence regarding anything having to do with this litigation or associated negotiations is IMO completely appropriate and is NOT an indication of ANYTHING. And it certainly is not their responsibility to educate the masses regarding legal terms and court actions, specific to this case or in general.
