I too wish they hadn't done the dividends. Notice I said "dividends" in plural. So, to clarify, I do wish they had done no dividends at all, but the problem I had was with the second, and third (mostly the third).
Think of the mindset at the time the first dividend was announced - EVERYONE's mindset. The ball is rolling, licenses starting to be executed, tons of money coming in, tons more to come - soon. Who didn't think that was the case? At the time of that first dividend, there was no reason to think that 2% was more than a drop in the bucket. And the attention they reasonably expected to garner. A dividend from a microcap, BB company!
Second dividend was shortly thereafter - same mindset. But on the first one, the PPS went up, then right back down. And the attention we got was certainly less than expected. So double it to 4% and try again! Same results. A lesson should have been learned.
The third dividend. Why? The lesson should have been learned. The only (stretch of) logic I can put to this is as others have suggested - that it was a component of a deal with S&L to get them less "in the picture" and to get rid of the warrants.
Where are we now? No dividends! Lesson learned!
Throw the bums out?
Why does this subject even come up any more?
