You guys are making me laugh. I still don't understand why the guy would know anything about KXL (he didn't mention it by name, but he described the Golden Mile and the buying of the hotel and restaurant). I will have to ask the airline for the seat logs - maybe it was empty and I was in a trance. I don't think so though.

Punte Del Este is picking up again, with Argentinians. The Argentinians are sure hurting from their IMF/World Bank/"Confessions of an Economic Hitman" - engineered collapse. My bags in the back of the taxi were ransomed to me for 300 pesos on arrival (at 3 a.m. on a dark street, thanks to Varig being "on time" (6 hours late English Time)). The driver said he's drive off with my bags or I could pay him. Lesson #1 - put your bags in the back seat, and don't get out of the taxi without them.

Better than the chemical engineering guy I met in Sao Paulo. He went through immigration on his previous trip, the police went through all his stuff - laptop, expensive equipment - and a few moments later on the airport road he was carjacked, 3 cars and 2 shot guns - and the robbers had a checklist of everything he had. Surrendered it all, wisely.

I am shellshocked about my position in KXL, but have sold nothing.

Met a lot of interesting people down there, went to some all-night religous/shaman ceremonies, and Carnaval is still bright in my mind.
