"Just to address ONE inanae point Rae makes,WE,along with any company that wishes to put working people to work,MUST look after SOCIAL issues on the reserves .Please explain to me WHY ? Why mining companies are responsible for cleaning up "social issues" on reserves ?"
You might note that our whole society and virtually every citizen/organization/company are sharing in the maintenance of social support. Look around in southern Ontario. The north doesn't really compare as yet. Most here take for granted, perhaps not for long though, the care and amenities including the roads to get to them. In spite of our support systems we still have crime, violence, substance abuse, street people, prostitution and the mentally ill to name a few with businesses that are finding it appropriate to avoid full time employees and hence pensions, medical and any other "social" issue they can. It's just business right?
