"Just to address ONE inanae point Rae makes,WE,along with any company that wishes to put working people to work,MUST look after SOCIAL issues on the reserves .Please explain to me WHY ? Why mining companies are responsible for cleaning up "social issues" on reserves ?"
The real issue is to avoid having large companies add to the saga of abuse that the FN have been subjected to. Is it the responsibility of companies to do this on their own? Of course not but the reputation and practice of mining companies has not been exactly stellar across the globe as profit stands as the bottom line. As long as there is dollar signs involved no one's vision can be trusted....including yours. Tell me your interest doesn't come from how the FN impact how fast you make money in stocks. You might try reading a bit yourself concerning the reports on the residential schools and the displacement of families and tribes at the hands of some individuals with some serious anger management issues. You seem to forget that for every FN who demonstrates what might be considered compromised ethics, there are hundreds of thousands in everyday "white" culture practicing no less and a lot more. A little pot and kettle here. But then greed does that.
