I dont believe that MMs really take a position......unless they see something is about to happen. Its alot risk they already are handing tons of stocks the same time. Thier job is to match orders..thats how they make their money.

I use the example of sports betting/Vegas

Its kind of like saying that Vegas wants a certain outcome of a game...no they dont...... they just want as many bettors as possible..and kept the balance as close to 50% per each side.... they make money on the juice.... eg. You bet $11 to win $10.00 meanwhile another bettor takes the opposite position. The house receives $22 and pays out $20.00.. the $2.00 was the money made on the juice..the transaction. The House will always make money so long as their is transactions going on... if too many bettors on one side.. the juice is bigger... bet $15 to win $10.. ( just like a spread on a stock)

The house doesnt take a positon.... this way it always wins lol.

Now..... an MM probably does take positions when they see volumes coming in...or big orders trying to go through.... but i think these positions are short term positions made during the day....

But then again...what do i know.... just my thoughts....

i dont think MMs are "selling" i just think its a combo of traders...flippers...longs that are hedging...and maybe shorts that think PTSC will lose...
