Like I've been saying all along, politics is all about perception and painting your opponent as undesirable as possible to the voters.

Among voters where religion matter,

The fact that he was born a Muslim, and will be considered a Muslim amongst the worldwide Muslim population, will make the fact that he's currently Christian irrelevant among many Christians.Then of course you have the mistrust among Christians,, you see Obama started of as a Muslim, then went to Catholic schools, and Catholics are considered non-Christians by Protestants and especially Evangelicals. The Catholic part was from his White grandparents. After he married an African American he switched over to his new Afro Centric Church,Evangelical I believe, which is very controversial by itself.

On the issue of color

Let's be honest, to the majority of white voters, he's considered a Black Man. The problem is that not all Blacks consider him a Black man..Macleans magazine ran an article with the headline IS he Black enough..One thing most people don't realize is that not all Blacks are considered equal amongst themselves, the black community is known to discriminate amongst themselves, the darker the skin the more they're discriminated against. Then of course you have the animosity between African Americans that are the descendants of slaves and the recent immigrants from Africa and the Caribbean.

So Obama has challenges,, to Whites he's Black period, To some Blacks he's not Black enough, To African Americans of slave ancestry,he's not one of them. To some African Americans he's got Black skin but he's a sell-out to the man ( Uncle Tom) to some Whites he's the poster boy for affirmative action, and to Hispanics he's a threat to their own ambitions of advancing within American Society.

He's either your greatest hope, or your greatest nightmare,,take your pick.
