I'm not exactly saying Obama isn't black, because you're right he and others definitely believe he's black. My point that I didn't make well, was that when I think of Obama I don't think of him as "black." When you look at him primarily from color and background (education, culture...), he's considerably different than Rev. Sharpton, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Alan Keyes, Harold Washington, and etc. His color isn't what I think of when I think of Obama, I think of his youth, intelligence, international experiences, and etc. I can understand why you would call me on it though. It's very interesting that being half-black and half-white (interesting discussion on his thoughts with respect to his lilly-white mother and questions of is he black enough on Wikipedia). But interesting to me that even 10% black is enough to be thought of as "black." Anyway it's not a big deal to me, nothing much else to discuss at the moment. I can't accept your conceding defeat, you're technically far more accurate than I am. In fact I got a good laugh out of "ARE you saying he's not black?" I was expecting no less.

I think we actually agree on a lot here, it's just not obvious. To tell you the truth the thing I'm really worried about should Obama progress much further, I hate to even mention. I'll give you a hint (you touched on it with JFK and the Deep South), I'm very worried he'll be treated in the fashion of MLK Jr., JFK, RFK, Abraham Lincoln, and etc. Nothing thank God I've picked up on, just nagging in the back of my mind.
