Hi bushboy, your broker had to sell your shares to comply with the tax laws then quickly picked them back up for you in your TFSA. He couldnt directly transfer them from a taxable account into a non-taxable account. I also had it done last year and this is how they did it. I did it all in a couple of minutes with the broker on the phone documenting the transaction as he went.
