I find it frustrating as well but most negotiations go back and forth. I suspect the problem with the land acquisition is that the timber companies have more power in the deal then Dave and Probe does. Doesn't take much to draw a line and see that the HGZ may go through their land. The more we drill the better it looks for the timber company. They can wait until we drill off the zone on one side of their property and then see if the HGZ is going to go through. If it is they can squeeze PRB for everything they can get. If the zone emerges on the other side of the timber property they have yet more power in that PRB could have stranded resources they can't effectively get to them. Even more power dynamics in that you can't mine within 60 meters of an adjacent mining claim without permission. So at the end of the day the Timber companies can wait PRB out unless they get a particularly sweet deal. The only real risk is that they want more then the potential resources are worth to PRB. In the meantime the dance continues until one side gives in or gives up. Personally I'd just announce that the discussion have been suspended and focus on the exploration drilling up to their boundary. It's unlikely that anyone else is going to be in a position explore/develop a section of the HGZ if it does go through the Timber companies' wedge of land. So move on and if the timber companies want to come back to talk later the power dynamics shift back towards PRB.
