European Central Banks are buying gold hand-over-fist, Serbia being the latest example. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank is said to be facing perhaps insurmountable problems. If so, that certainly explains the rush to gold by European Common Market banks.
What should happen if Deutsche Bank should fail, or teeter on failure? The world will suffer financial pneumonia, and the price of gold will become meteoric. The consequences of that would most likely mean the end of the line for many mineral exploration companies not sitting on significant discoveries.
Why? No one wants to gamble on mining plays going into recession/depression.
