I've been on the BODs for one public company, also "through the chairs" in a number of non-profits, and I can tell you one thing from these experiences. I would not have the stomach to be chairman or CEO of a public company, or have anything at all to do with shareholder relations, particularly in regards to mineral exploration. No matter what you say, you lose.
