We will know more about how long this case is going to take once the Collateral Estoppel and its attendant issues are resolved. The appeals court could remand it back to the trial court which would take a few months to a year, but remember almost all cases are settled, they don't go to trial. The whole system and its procedures are designeed to get the parties to agee to settlement at some point.
