Your scenario may be right. The other side of that coin is that Samsung, Panasonic, et.al. made a financial decision and not a patent validity decision. Probably not sure which way it was going, so paid they X to just make the problem go away. If we could ever get the right ruling that our patents are interdependent and have been infringed upon, then the settlements would go to XXXXXXX. GLTAL
