For READ no link to PC is necessary.....the execution is directly off the flash. The throughput READ is from flash directly to the cache arrangements(multi or singular, bidirectional or one way) and then assorted DA...AD converters depending on the process.

As for edit, write(Record).....or any other API....a link to PC is not necessary, however, you can put the API under the control of the PC interface if desired.
