I agree...any acquisition will take time. My thoughts on the process have been:

  • NDAs signed, relationship established
  • Send out samples for testing by end-users based on their specifications
  • Feedback from end-users, reiterate above process
  • ZEN answer questions for end-users based on LT's points above
  • End-user enter into discussions and partnerships with potential mining companies; or current suppliers of graphite on how they can get access to Albany deposit
  • End-user and partners determine economic viability of partnerships; understand risk/rewards (immediate and future)
  • End-user/partnership to determine strategy (i.e. buy mine, or invest). This can be extremely complicated depending on model for acquiring the raw materials.
  • Negotiate with ZEN.

If ZEN wants multiple offers, they are going to ensure everyone has the same information and they are all ready to come to the table at the same time. For multiple offers, I can't see ZEN wanting an offer with an expiry deadline from a single company, and then having to scramble to get information to another company who may want to make a competing bid. Layout all the information you have, keep it quiet under an NDA, and then let the people start bidding.

Lots of variables will need to be considered and factored in by anyone wanting to invest into Zenyatta, or outright purchase ZEN. I am a firm believer that this will take time.

Does anyone know how long Inco, or even Teck was watching and posing questions to DF before the investment or buyout? A few month decision, or
