First is all, this is an application, not a granted patent. And who knows if any of their claim will be accepted or not as there could be some little report somewhere that show crystallization has been attempted already, which make this application a prior-art!!
Secondly, reformulation/crystalization of novel drugs adds to the scientific/ technical expertise of the person/company that has doonr the work. This can be used to enhance their credibility as a manufacturer/drug reformulating outfit!!
but the important part here is weather the reformulated Drug has some superiority in terms of its pharmacokinetics / pharmacodynamics vs the existing formulations currently in use!! And that is a major undertaking to compare & contrast the two or more version & show their advantages!!!
Regardless of That, I see this as a positive development for RVX as others connsidering the crystallization a worthy undertaking!!
