I would like to know everything, all the time, as an investor. But I am sure there are things that HL executives know that I don't know, and the same with Third Eye, and probably some things one of them know that other doesn't.
Draw Venn diagrams with circles representing retail investors, institutional investors, large core investors, the scientific community, regulators, and the FDA. Where all of those circles intersect is the domain area for readily disclosed public information, and adhering to various charters, rules, and regulations of course.
There "probably" shouldn't be differentiation in voluntary disclosure, and some cases it isn't allowed, but there are a lot of specific groups that need to be satisfied and balanced as financiers, investors, and in the science and regulatory domains ... and there may be goals, interests, and leverage among those groups that is in conflict at times.
Retailers may want any and all positivities disclosed to pump the stock up to make us feel good, while others may not want it pumped up for whatever reasons knowing it going to be wherever it is destined to be ultimately based on trial results. I don't have specific examples to offer, but it has been widely discussed on here many times that HL could benefit from a depressed price in the recent past for leveraged purchasing while "we" all want to look at our portfolios and feel giddy temporarily. Then also you want to be squeaky clean for regulatory, perhaps not look too cocky or confident (regulators are people too).
I'm rambling, but I am just going with the assumption that RVX leadership is intelligent, has a pretty good idea of what they are trying to accomplish with daily input and regular "colonoscopies" from HL, Ken Dart, Third Eye, regulators, the FDA, and maybe even the SEC now, etc. Everything they say and do is going to cause a ripple in some way, with someone, and not everyone will always be on the same page at all times.
It would be nice if politics, religion, investing, life, and bringing a drug to market were more simple ... I wish RVX understood how important it is to me personally that they disclose ALL they know to me, I'm sweating bullets over here ...
Just gonna trust that they are playing by the rules and doing the best they can to satisfy everyone in a complex environment ..... my only "non-negotiables" are getting a good top line from past data and knowledge infused into an intelligently designed BoM study, staying solvent, and looking like good guys to the FDA & regulators.
I gotta believe everything is done for a reason (hopefully thought out well), with everyone's best interests co-aligned in the end, navigating dangerous tides and currents in delivering a product to market. A lot of ingredients baked into this cake.
Maybe Don will have a tell all book deal someday ...
