Hey man!
No problem! Well the thing is, there is no cost to QEC for the 3.5billion in royalty payments of the yamaska land. That land was there, and it was farmed out to Forest Oil...a company with enough money to drill all of those wells, not to mention, have the expertise in drilling shale gas, as they have huge production in the barnett shale.
Talisman again is a huge company with enough capital to see a full scale project. And again, 35% interest on that land with minimal costs....QEC is just basically reaping the rewards that come because they were the first to acquire tha acerage.
Gastem also has a 20% interest in the yamaska permits.
Forest Oil isn't a company to say things that don't mean. That is why this is a serious find. With the potential of the find, I don't think the prices will be dropping too much more. Many institutions are heavily invested and will wait for the long haul. Shale gas plays of this size aren't discovered every day, so the potential is huge.
Area plays always increase, just sort of a given. If you look at the Noront (not.v), they hit huge numbers on their assays, went from $0.40 to a high of $7.00, and now trading at the $5-6 range...and they don't even know when a full production will be, and they have sustained those levels for over 6 months now....so I don't expect prices to drop too much. All the area plays went up substantially, but are well below their highs, because they need to prove the same results.
Good luck!
Rocco:)
