I know you have been saying that and it worries me because you have been getting some things very right lately! Wouldn't mind you being very wrong on this one. Some seem to think by their posts that certain plays will allow them to profit wildly from something like this, but as they say, when they raid the whorehouse, they even take away the piano player! I guess it is all conjecture, but the big bad downturns (Depressions) are either inflationalry or deflationary. Inflationary, gold would be a real help, deflationary, I think you want hard (?) currency going in, and buy gold during if you can as it would sell off with the rest of commodities.

We have supposedly learned lessons from the 30's. If banks in the US collapse, presumably FDIC etc will bail out account holders. However, with such a high national debt, you wonder where the money will come from, and a severe downturn would really diminish tax revenue at all levels. Funny thing is if we can keep the US banks from toppling, i think there is real reason to be bullish.
