Hey ITTR, the Phoenix rises from the ashes, LOL. Good to hear from you, your appearance has actually pulled me out of my semi-exile as well! May as well join in on this, though slightly offended I didn't get the friendly shout out as a fellow Vancouver Islander!
Anyway, obviously two distinct schools of thought here. I'm leaning in Leb's corner this time around. Clearly tons of potential with POET, can't argue with the specs etc. but you know the old saying: A bird in the hand....and Rockely's definitely got the bird right now. From the investor's point of view, commercial success for POET in this area is still 100% speculation. Management may know better, but we don't.
If POET happens to come out with an announcement next week, month or quarter, declaring they've partnered with Samsung or Nokia or Huawei to underwrite the wearable development, that's a huge step one. However, even with such an announcement, development will take time (1-2 years?), and by then Rockley may very well of figured a way to optimize their specs/footprint to a V2.0 to better compete POET's capabilities (once again more speculation). We just don't know.
Personally, I am reasonably confident we will get that wearables partnership announcement in the next few quarters, at which point 100% speculation drops to reasonable expectation of commercial success in that very lucrative vertical.
