Smoothsailing: Perhaps a little clarification here. I think Rainer you are saying it is not in the best interests of the shareholders if we are to reap the potential value of all the applications of the technology for POET to be bought out by a single company, say Apple for instance?
Perhaps a little clarification here. I think it would be in the best interest of shareholders if POET would get bought out soon by a single large company like Apple, preferrably in a bidding war. This would bring us a huge amount of money on short or medium term.
However, this powerful technology being controlled by a single company and being utilized solely in the interests of that company would be very bad for mankind and society.
Weighting both positions against each other, I'd reject the buy-out scenario. Your mileage may vary. Anyway, in both cases the gains for shareholders will be huge. But huger than huge at the expense of society would be irresponsible. That's my opinion.
