Point taken scary, but bear in mind that ahasa used the word 'comparable' in his post, my reply was directed at his concern regarding speed not simply the interpretation of the anouncement.

Besides which I have always prefferred to view performance in terms of orders of magnitude which is what we are expecting to achieve in terms of more speed for less power.

Also bear in mind that PC's statement in the NR includes the following statement:

'This should provide us with results needed to showcase our technology to potential customers at the optimum node for our platform'

Hence my point that we need not be concerned with speed untill results with an actual POET chip has been obtained and promulgated. We have all been waiting for hard facts about perfomance but it would have been meaningless to go firm on figures until the real Mcoy was tested. Given preformance testing on a fab made production chip. We will have the tick in the box of third party evaluation. POETs credibility will be much enhanced .

We must be careful not bore posters with our little spat particulalry on such a good news day.
