How's this for logic:

POET licences it's technology and revenue starts pouring in.

Within 2 yrs. it has to start paying dividends, and has already split it's stock 3:1 because demand is so high.

Incumbent chipmakers (INTEL, Samsung et al) approach POET and say we want to give you $50B for the technology.

POET thoughtfully considers the offer.

POET then tells INTEL, Samung et al. to go f*#k themselves.

INTEL, Samsung et al then make a hostile bid for $50/sh. (remember, we've already split 3:1 so this is a $150/sh offer in original terms).

Shareholders rejoice, but the company says they're not interested as they understand the company is worth far more.

The offer is put to vote and is rejected, losing 2/3 to 1/3, insiders carrying most of that weight, but supported by some long term thinking retailers.

POET annihilates the incumbents, they are wiped out.

POET becomes the largest cap company on the NASDAQ after spliting several more times, surpassing APPL in yr. 7.

The End.
