In my list alternative technologies has been one factor, but mitgataed by the question how far advanced are they to be in compettion with POET. In oogees post Graphene came up, which again was on my list of contenders.
Since we are into technical matters others may be interested in the following Manchester University article on Graphene, paticularly the 'terahertz section'

In my view Graphene may be a significant compeditor to the advantages Gallium Arsenide in the future. I wonder what Prof Taylor's view is?
