May I remind some of you that the reason Ontario electricity is the highest on the continent is becuse of the 'greening' of Ontario Hydro. Subsidies for solar panels and wind power have changed the costs from lowest to highest rates.

The question is that the gas chromite process may not be as profitable were it not for the comparison to the expensive electricity in Ontario. And if that is the situation then is that worthy of a patent?

My small understanding of that application is that the main point is the lowered costs due to use of natural gas. Secondary issue is that carbon in the gas plus added carbon aid in the processing. Is that enough of an 'invention' to validate issuance of a patent.

Of course we are not going to determine that here, are we? So why the long debate especially when the real answer is one or more years away?
