ANL, you are not alone:
The discussion by us of E-W route for the road probably started in late 2009 when Lavelin was awarded a study of possible infrastructures. I was in favour of the E-W from the start not for any reason for Noront BUT for the usefullness to the natives. We need them on our side to get anywhere.
The discussion about road probably reached a crescendo in summer of 2010 when the feasibility was awarded to Micon. The only time E-W lost any preference with us is recently when Cliffs was in favour of a road beside their proposed railway route and Ontario government seemed in support of it.
I have always said road will be needed along E-W to satisfy native complaints because the possibilities from that front are almost endless. Road along Cliffs railway is to service the rail line and of use to few locals. I assume that most here are of same opinion. Even government officials must be having second thoughts.
Let no one despair.
