I wonder too if anyone that is optimistic about a road going in beside the hydro line has considered that we're still going into the ROF, which is a big heap of muskeg. That hydro line is going to be difficult, because the towers need support. Do they get anchored through a significant amount of muskeg to the bedrock below? I presume so. It would be a nightmare trying to bring in some sort of an aggregate base to put a tower on. I can't even imagine that that would be possible. So anyway, the builders of a line can certain use assorted types of "challenging access vehicles" such as rolligons & unimogs and tracked vehicles, I guess, to get the people and supplies into place to build the towers. But that doesn't mean that there will also be a base there for a service road. Maybe they'll use rotary wing aircraft to move the supplies and people as the line is constructed? The only positive thing that I can think about relating to a project like that would be that since it's muskeg, they might not really need to send in fallers to deal with the trees underneath.
