Reminder: The stock symbol for "Aurelian" was "ARU" not "AUR" as commonly used on this board.

Yes, I bought into Aurelian around the $10. mark after the split, when it was being highly touted by analysts and commentators. I see a few on this Board questioning all the complaining by SH, with various figures to support their views, but at the time, the ARU Board was universally howling mad! What a show they put on all to no avail! I guess this is one of those instances where you had to be there to appreciate it fully. Very hard lessons were learned about shareholders' rights in Canada, or more accurately, of the lack thereof.

Good point about Bre-X. My broker at the time tried hard to get me into it, and later I cursed myself up and down for not listening. But then, who knows if I would have been smart enough to get out when I had made a killing? Not likely! Only blind chance or a pre-planned withdrawal program would have saved the day. Chalk one up for Sum!
