"I have no idea what you are implying with your remark about having made a weak attempt to acquire FWR. Are you suggesting that Noront's crystal ball was working so well that the whole sequence of events was scripted to lead to their own takeover? Good grief, is all I have to say to that.

Remember the reaction of FWR SHs to the NOT offer? A takeover, especially a hostile offer needs to be strong (at a significant premium). Noront saw their offer(s) as "fair", I saw it as unrealistic and weak. I realize there is speculation that Noront management may have had ulterior motives with the FWR takeover attempt but I heard nothing to confirm this speculation. Their offer got easily priced out of the bidding process. In my eyes this signaled to me they are an explorco and are not in the league yet of bringing their resoure to a mine.
So where does that position them? They hold a significant resource with high upside potential, in a hot undeveloped area where majors are starting to buy in, with a depressed share price and a recent failed M&A attempt. I believe that makes them a vulnerable takeover target.
