Thank you for the civil response.

1. Good answer. I take it from this response that you intent is to perhaps again pursue a BoD seat after 14a-11 kicks in. Makes good sense. With this time frame in play, your failure to respond to the rest of my question(s) in this regard is completely understandable (seriously).

2. Yep, I would agree that this was the catalyst that hit the primer. Apparently some folks were at the hearing, heard of the Judge's decision to decide later, and for some unknown reason thought this was good news. Perhaps the fact that the Judge NOT having immediately decided for Barco was sufficient to warrant buying.

But the key, IMO, is/was the primer. A few days of Mark posting about the ramifications if TPL failed to timely respond, with his redundant posts being reported and then processed by a certain Hub Leader with "ignore violation". Ron providing advice validating Mark's assertions re: no TPL response, the Judge would very likely rule in Barco's favor.

Then, at the eleventh hour, Thursday afternoon I believe, the PACER containing TPL's response is shared. People sigh in relief, and find the response impressive/compelling. The spring coils tightly.

Friday late morning, as you observe, a flurry of buying around the time of the Judge's decision not to decide. Some momentum created, message board chatter increases, the coiled spring releases. But think again about how that spring got coiled - the sharing of that PACER by the aforementioned Hub Leader. Shared only on message boards, and not until the afternoon before the hearing. News? Nope, more like "olds". That PACER was available on 2/4/11. A simple oversight or whatever, this particular PACER was missed until Ron (per his post) requested that the Hub Leader take a closer look. This even though that Hub Leader had found and posted 9 other PACERS since 2/4/11. IMO, the "spring was coiled" by one mechanism - message boards.

While I cannot effectively argue that some, ignorant of message board info, simply saw the upward momentum and jumped in, I certainly cannot discount the probability that the message boards were the "word of mouth" you mention.

3. Nope, please re-read my words. I specifically did NOT say "only suggested that the lack of BoD bashing caused the PPS rise". What I said was that the far more positive, upbeat tone on message boards is what kept us from retreating back to recent lows. And IMO such a retreat would have been understandable considering that there was no "news" at all really. Nothing changed. Nothing except the tone of message boards. There was probably some reassurance in seeing TPL's response to Barco - found only on message boards to that point, by the "masses".

4. See replies 2 & 3.

5. Apparently I need a little more explanation. Until 14a-11 kicks in, my understanding is that the BoD continues to retain the right to evaluate nominees (as in the past) and choose viable candidates. Assuming they find no new acceptable candidates, the ONLY candidates will be the existing members of the Board. Regardless of votes, it would appear they win. Please correct me if I don't have this right.

6. I have been corrected. But I don't get the RG connection. He was not forced/obliged to buy shares as part of his employment agreement. And his purchase was questioned due to the BoD/Officers trading moratorium in place at the time.

The bottom line in all of this - the point I'm trying to make - is that the tone and content of messages on the boards does have an effect on trading activity. People can argue that there are many influencing factors, and I totally agree. I'm just saying that one of those factors is what is being communicated on messge boards. And I don't believe I'm alone with this thought - just ask the thousands of folks posting vigorously on RB!

As for the BoD issues, I'm sorry that I can't get too worked up about it because it is what it is, and it is what it was when the majority here made their initial investment, and (based on my understanding - subject to correction) it ain't gonna change for about three years.

Thank you again. Now I can go back to relaxing in Lurk Mode!

SGE
