Black Horse deposit has an Inferred Resource Now 85.9 Million Tonnes @ 34.5%
The Port Authority was proposed in the New Deal. See a series of posts by Goodheart-r. The Province calls it the Development Corp, but it would make sense to transfer all the components they were talking about to the Port Authority which is under the Feds (Ministry of Transportation which operates ports and other transportation infrastructure...Source: Wikipedia). There was 2 important announcements
- Gravelle: Appointment of Deloitte LLP to look at the best way to sort out the ONTC, and the transporation infrasture including road, rail and hovercraft. Gravelle also said the Province is prepared to make significant infrastucture investment to develop the ROF; and
- Rickford: Statement on Friday evening quoted by the Toronto Star (see quote also in goodheart-r post)

On Friday evening, however, federal Minister of State (Science and Technology) Greg Rickford, released a statement on the issue: “Economic Action Plan 2014 reaffirmed our government’s commitment to the new Building Canada Plan. We look forward to the government of Ontario identifying its priority infrastructure projects under Building Canada, including those projects related to the Ring of Fire. …. Our government believes that the Ring of Fire is a legacy resource development project with the potential to contribute significantly to the economic future of Northern Ontario.”
The underlined portion appeared to give some hint that the Feds has (matching) money in the Economic Plan 2014 (which has some large sum of money for infrastructures that are of national interest...in the $Billions).
I have not seen any specific announcement containing all the fine details, e.g. Port Authority, etc. However, it would appear that the ducks are lining up in a row, noting also that PM Harper will be meeting with Obama on 19 Feb in Mexico. It should be a good opportunity to discuss the development of this huge chromite deposit (separately with the US of course).
Any better and more definite info? Anyone?
