Midas, RM did indeed imply that since production will not take place for 2-3 years, the issue of the gold sale law does not have practical implications until then. He also did not seem overly concerned with the possibility that the way this law works would put a crimp in the ability of the project to make money. His position was that the Chinese have a tremendous amount of clout in VZLA now because of their investments there and they are in this to make a lot of money. He could not see this law being implemented in such a way that they (and by implication us) would not make money.
