Hey there. I'm a long time lurker with a substantial long position and I need to chime in.

I'm not surprised by DB's comments that some of the MinAmb people appear to have never read the original application or supporting documents. With all the turn-over in the ministry and lack of focus, its bound to happen. Taht said, getting these beaurocrats educated on what they already approved is probably half the battle right now.

However, I don't buy the open mine issue. Remember the empahsis placed on "reclaimation" from the June 24th PR. There's no way to clean up the mercury and cyanide in the soil without digging it out and processing it. If the soil in LC wasn't already contaminated, then I could buy the open pit argument. But it's a mess.... just take a look any of the aerial photos of the site.

The only way the Vennies can get it cleaned up on someone else's dime is through a major extraction process similar to what is being proposed by KRY open pit plans.

IMO, the delay from the June PR is partially due to the re-education process and MinAmb's way of saving face by showing the Vennies they put KRY through the ringer before giving them fianl approval.

Jold tight, me thinks we're almost home.
