A reality is, within the partnership framework, to lose a supplier or a customer is not good for either party. A much better approach, is to create a situation which adeuately takes care of the needs of both parties within a changing environment. If a supplier, by pricing levels creates a situation whereby the customer cannot be profitable, or vice versa, then a situation exists where the one may go out of business. The other loses a customer which it might be impossible to replace. Better to create a situation in which both can profit and survive. Any truly effective relationship will be cognizant of this reality.
