Again, I have to agree with your logic on this...

Why would Ecuador want to take on the responsibility to make this mine happen as quickly as possible, in order to get the new income resource "flowing"....as compared to letting a major mining company, be it Canadian, U.S. or Chinese/India take over this project, and bring it to operational status in possible record time.

They have a whole lot more important tasks to address immediately just to keep their Country operating in the now global market.

Ecuador stands to make...what is it now? 50% royalties and taxes without having to do anything but do the over site accounting and then....ACCEPT THE CHECK!

Ecuador needs revenue income very quickly to be able to fund Correa's social policies ASAP....in order to keep his own political position from failing....
