Based upon what Wi-lan announced as a result of the strategic review, I perceive this to be one small step in the direction of executing the SR.
Small amount of money paid up front (not material). Sharing of revenues. Further, JS indicated that they intend to have the lawyers share the risk/reward for this and future cases during his interview on BNN today.
There won't be as much money made, but there won't be as much lost in the event that Wi-lan loses the case - for whatever reason - including a jury invalidating patents incorrectly. This should smooth out the revenue/earnings situation.
I know that my opinion in this is not the common view. However, I have decided to hold and watch and wait.
