If I remember correctly, the TFSA season around the first of Jan this year had no or little affect on the sp. We had anticipated what you are saying, but I beleive the buying was not as much as we expected. I personally don,t expect any significant sp change due to the TFSA in coming years.

For the second question, You should check with your broker to see what options are available to you. I know last Jan that I transferred some shares from my non-registered account into a TFSA, by a means labled "transfer in kind". That action meaning my shares were transferred, didn,t involve me having to sell the existing shares, I just transferred from one account to the other which took about 4 days I beleive.
