think of it as a gamble at the roulette table. if you've got a 30% chance of hitting it BIGTIME with a 10 fold increase in your bet if it hits and the downside risk is that there's a 70% chance that your bet will fail and you'll lose 75% of your money, are you going to lay that money down and risk it. i know i am, cause i like those odds.
