I wonder too about the gold in the soil...if it's directly above it can't be attributed to glacial movement so what then?

Sometimes life presents fortuitous moments when things seem bad, perhaps the "hand trenching" will have presented information that would have been overlooked had the road not been washed out and the trenching been done by more conventional, mechanical means.

It would be a welcome surprise if this setback, and the ensuing change of plans ended up offering up new insights to this mode of mineralization.
