Someone is playing with technical wording. A special category of a 'stock split' is the 'Reverse' stock split where they consolidate. So prb does a reverse stock split at 1 new Probe for 100 old probe and pays out the those share holders that hold fractional shares. Once that is done Probe does a normal stock split at a 100 New New probe shares and all the larger share holders are back to having exactly the same number of shares they started with except they are the 'new new ' Prb shares and probe doesn't have spend money communicating (annual reports, proxies, etc) with very small shareholders.
