Combining Classic Mineral Exploration with State of the Art Technology
...Or, as VP has said many times previously, bad news usually comes out on Fridays...but is this really bad news? Or does the company think it will be seen as bad news or have a negative impact on share price? Obviously, even perception can affect SP's and LBSR's is in a fragile state currently. I would think all shareholders, JB, and those with the BOD have already prepared or accepted that a RS is most likely coming...so maybe that is the reason for the Friday release? Maybe you are correct? Maybe there is something else going on behind the scenes? Perhaps there is hope that the BOD thinks a RS is avoidable because of what might be knocking on the door? Releasing this news on Friday evening prevents knee jerk reactions from shareholders and possibly buys a very short amount of time to allow us to digest this.
The common theme I have read lately about the mining sector, particularly certain metals-including copper and gold, is most mining companies have very few options and very poor options for future projects as old mines dry up. Im not sure why they would let that happen, but they did, and it should benefit exploration companies. If JB is even half correct about Hay Mountain there is no way it will continue to be ignored by mining companies. America has to be one of the safest places for mining companies, I would think anyway. We have a stable political structure, stable economy, stable infrastructure, stable taxation (no windfall taxes), advanced or newest technology and methods, and plenty of labor. Sure, more money can be made in under developed countries (as related to cost) but its more of a gamble. Again, if JB is even half correct, LBSR is one of the safest bets a mining company could make.
I have read it can take, easily, 10-20 years for a mine to develop from the time the ground catches the geologists eye to the time a shovel goes into the ground. And then I thought "Well whats to keep a mining company from just waiting the exploration company out? especially if metal prices are low and supply is greater than demand?" Naturally the only way is competetion from other miners. Yet, again, if metals are low, the big companies may not want to sink money into something unproven (which could be a reason for the gap in producing mines and prospective mines?). But if there is a country who is hungry for a metal, such as copper, they would be less likely to wait than western hemisphere mining companies. Personally I think the entity that pulls the trigger on Hay Mountain will come from the east. My opinion is China, maybe Saudi Arabia. If it is China, then this tariff thing has put a kink on things. However, things may be changing between us and China. Is it coincidence that weird things are going on with LBSR at the same time this issue with China has developed? Actually, it probably is coincidence, but maybe not.
There may not be anything going on with LBSR, it may be that JB just doesnt want to do it anymore (although I highly doubt that). As VP stated recently "Either we launch into the stratosphere from here or sink into oblivion. Either way, I think our anxiety will be over soon". I am most likely wrong about many of the things I say. If I was that smart, I would be playing Bridge with Warren Buffet and Bill Gates but I dont even know how to play Bridge so that should tell you something about my intelligence. What I do know is vapor is starting to slowly escape from the kettle, if the heat continues to build the whisling scream should develop shortly. But the question is: will it be a scream of joy or of despair? Of course we all hope the best and I truely think it will be the best. Companies dont change a CEO just to have news to release to the share holders. Again, I repeat he truest words I have read, as related to LBSR in the last 5 years,"Either we launch into the stratosphere from here or sink into oblivion. Either way, I think our anxiety will be over soon".
