Wesley, the USGS reported long ago that in it's opinion 1 our of every 3 breccia pipes in this region is mineralized. And, as this region is known to hold very highly mineralized pipes, among the richest in the word, there is a very good chance that most of the now lost mineralized pipes are mineralized sufficiently enought to be mined.
This suggest to me that a heck-of-a-lot of value was knowinly given back to the government, after having weighed the near term cost of continuing the claims as against near term potential for rewards to be had elsewhere with that money.
Besides, there is no evidence the company recently spent money "to dertmine" what had value and what didn't, without going back to the process used in the initial claims selection (which was done brilliantly as I recall).
So, in one sense, it feels to me as if a lot of former claims renewal fees have gone to waste, but I also feel there will be rewards for having done this. Time will tell.
