You cheated.

Back in the days when I worked the joints till 2 AM, I used to listen to those guys on the way home from the gig. They were funny. Another great was Jean Shepherd.......a master story teller. The film, "A Christmas Story", which he narrated, was a perfect example of his artful craftsmanship.

Guys like Letterman and the other meatheads, Maher and Stewart couldn't have survived in that environment. Shepherd and Bob and Ray could make you smile and laugh without being nasty like those misanthropes.
