There seems to be no literal translation of "synap". Maybe it's a spin off of "synapse". which is thus:
The definition of a synapse is the junction between two neurons or nerve cells where there is a small gap that neurotransmitters help nerve impulses to cross.
Also, EDIG is not the only busines entity to use the word. This is one.....there may be more.

EDIG labels Synap as a trade mark, however:
"The trademark designation notifies others that the product’s name and design are the company’s property. However, this trademark does not protect the company from another company that produces a similar product or uses a similar name."
