Message: Arcsoft, more Nunchi

I appreciate this boards impatience, but nobody here has offered any knowledge as to how long it takes a company to do DD and then decide if they can use our IP.

But, 8-29-13 Cocumelli did.....

Regarding his MSFT comment, "they get hundreds of requests each year to conduct DD on the patents of others, to determine if a license is in their best interest, to incorpate the IP in the goods and services they market. It can take many months, even years before they complete their study and decide ya or na to the vendor."

So, is 2.5 years from the patent issue date when the selling effort began for Nunchi? We are talking issue date of the 1st 6 in mid Nov, 2012. Nope...it began when IPmetrics was outsourced...

3-27-13 the baton was passed to IPmetrics, then they had to work up a plan, identify who to notify of the patent portfolio, prepare proposals and shoot it to them. How long before they mailed it out? Who knows, but the reference point alve, sorry, of "2 years" is in error.

One thing we know, on 8-29-13 it was in the hands of 50+, but no dates were offered as to when. For discussion only, lets guess they were mailed in the June/July, 2013 timeframe. That puts us at about 18 months.

Now, if it takes many months to years, should we be assuming it's taking too long? Should we be PO'd they have not licensed it yet?

I agree the tech world moves fast when it comes to physical products being launched, but when did they 1st hit the drawing board?

It takes 2 to 3 years to get a patent approved, then it goes into a product at some point. How long does part 2 take after patent approval? No clue on my end.

IMO, it has not been too long yet.
