Thanks chazitz! Thats why I have been reading the agoracom for years! Questions are asked & someone seems to find the information needed!

This document really explains a lot of what I was wondering about & brings up a few other thoughts.

1) if a company gets involved with the open sourcing, then pray that all of the paperwork needed to give the use of IP is done more than right as it sounds like the down wind users could still be held accountable but not the original companies.

2) as there haven't been any court desisions yet on open sourcing patent coverage ( ? ) I would really hate that Edig would or could be the 1st! yikes!

3) to me it sounds like a company could get lost in the details if not very careful.
