Six months or so ago when the Nunchi patents had just been approved and the suits were beginning to roll out, I thought that the flash patent income could provide us with some operating cash flow until we get to the potential large money for Nunchi. It seems a little different to me now. Although some of the smaller flash settlements could still come in the relative near future, the biggies could take quite awhile. The good news is that Nunchi money could be closer than originally thought. The IP Metrics goal of an eight week time line from information presentation to possible contract puts us in the middle of July. Sure, it will probably go beyond that, but it is very likely that we will not get significant flash settlement money by then either. A meaningful Nunchi contract prior to agreements with companies such as Sandisk(ENE due July 2) and Apple for the flash portfolio could give us the staying power we need so that the big fish will no longer think that they can just outlast us. I am looking forward to seeing what lays ahead for Edig between now and the end of the year.
