The same machine has told me that if I try to sell the Golden Gate Bridge, at least 10 people from this board will buy shares. I have heard in my days many BS stories but this one takes the cake. I have been in the business of explaining the present and on this basis predicting the future. In fact, I was related to a company that invented and developed "data mining" the purpose of which is to gather information about the individual consumer so that it can determine his/hers future purchases and behavior on specific issues. The company was(is) very successful in doing just that. Without engaging in a dissertation about ramdoness, the trick in predicting is to reduce the role of "probability" or luck good or bad. But this is a "problem specific" idea and in no way or form one can devise a software program that will address problems in geberal without any reference to their contexts.
