RE: Sandisk...You have to understand that the devices specifically in question are the target.
All of these suits have specific items they are going after.
The memory that SanDisk sells is not the target.....it's devices that format the media they are after.
You may see Sandisk as well as others come into play yet again....for other devices.
If defendants come to an agreement on these devices either to keep them alive, or kill them, that is the objective. If a defendant wants to keep them alive they will be granted license with damages for these specific items.
IMO, they do not get a broad license to produce products, every product will have to have a license. They will have to come to e.Digital for future product licensing.
The memory is now a commodity .....the more of it that gets manufactured the more user products will be devised around it....with removable ability.
IMO, we have them right where we want them...Sandisk is not that important any more other than keeping on piling out the removable media components. Sandisk in selling it's memory can not offer what e.Digital has to manufacturers....and squeezing them on their products should convince you of that fact.
